The best Mailchimp alternative depends on why you’re leaving.
For B2B teams in Belgium, six tools make the shortlist: Brevo, MailerLite, ActiveCampaign, HubSpot, Laposta and Klaviyo.
The verdict: there’s no best Mailchimp alternative. Leaving over price per contact, deeper automation, a CRM or EU data? Each reason points to a different tool.
Below you’ll find the price, the strength and the catch for each one.
How we checked: every price comes from the vendor’s own pricing page, checked on 21 October 2026, in the currency the page showed. We use a partner link for Brevo. The order follows your reason for leaving, not that link.
Which Mailchimp alternative fits which B2B team?
Here’s the short answer per tool:
| Tool | Best for | Free plan | Paid from (Oct 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Brevo | Big list, modest sending volume | 300 emails a day | €7/month (Starter) |
| MailerLite | Small teams on a small budget | 250 subscribers, 2,500 emails a month | €11/month (Comfort, 500 subscribers) |
| ActiveCampaign | Deep automation and nurturing | None, but a 14-day trial | Price on the vendor site |
| HubSpot Marketing Hub | Marketing and sales in one platform | Free for 2 users | $7/seat/month (Starter, limited-time offer) |
| Laposta | Simple newsletters, servers in the Netherlands | Up to 2,000 contacts | €210/year (subscription) |
| Klaviyo | Webshops | 250 active profiles, 500 emails a month | Price on the vendor site |
Two tools didn’t show a starting price on their pricing page.
So we say exactly that.
Why do B2B teams switch away from Mailchimp?
Price is the reason you’ll hear most.
Mailchimp charges by contact tier, from 0 to 500 contacts up to more than 1,000,000.
On Mailchimp’s pricing page you’ll also see your send limit scales with your list: 10 times your contacts on Essentials, 12 times on Standard and 15 times on Premium.
Go over a limit and overages apply.
On the free plan (250 contacts, 500 sends a month), sending gets paused instead.
So a B2B list of old leads you rarely email still costs you money every month.
Take an IT services firm with 8,000 contacts from trade fairs and webinars, for example.
It emails twice a month, but it pays for the whole list.
Three other reasons come up in B2B:
- Automation: you want branching, scoring and long nurture flows
- CRM: you want sales to see what a lead did with your emails
- EU data: your legal team asks where the data lives
Whichever weighs most for you sets your shortlist.
This chart helps you pick:
Run a webshop? Then Klaviyo belongs on the list, though it’s rarely a B2B pick.
Which Mailchimp alternatives are strongest for B2B?
Every tool gets the same four lines.
That way you’re comparing like with like.
1. Brevo
Best for: B2B teams with a big list they don’t email every week.
Price: free for up to 300 emails a day once your account is approved. Starter from €7 and Standard from €15 a month, billed monthly (pricing page, checked October 2026).
Biggest strength: the price follows your email volume, not just your contact count.
Watch out: each volume tier still has a contact limit. Starter at 5,000 emails a month allows 500 contacts; from 20,000 emails a month, that’s 500,000.
Brevo is a French company with its registered office in Paris.
Brevo’s security page says its servers are located in the EU.
You get email, automation and a light CRM in one package.
The page pitches Standard at teams that want to automate and test campaigns.
So check which plan holds the flows you need.
Rule of thumb: run your scenario on your real sending rhythm, not on your list size.
You’ll find worked examples in euro in our guide to Brevo pricing.
2. MailerLite
Best for: small B2B teams and freelancers who want a simple, cheap switch.
Price: free for 250 subscribers and 2,500 emails a month. Comfort from €11 and Power from €19 a month, billed monthly, for 500 subscribers (pricing page, checked October 2026).
Biggest strength: simple and affordable, with landing pages and forms included.
Watch out: automation and segmentation don’t go as deep as ActiveCampaign’s, and there’s no full CRM.
Paying yearly makes the plans 10% cheaper.
At 1,000 subscribers, Comfort goes up to €17 a month.
It’s the lightest switch.
Even the free plan includes automations, a landing page and signup forms.
3. ActiveCampaign
Best for: B2B teams that invest seriously in nurturing and lead scoring.
Price: price on the vendor site. The page defaults to 1,000 contacts, billed yearly, and the price scales with your list (checked October 2026).
Biggest strength: one of the strongest flow builders around, with branching on behavior.
Watch out: there’s no free plan, only a 14-day trial with no credit card. And you pay per contact here too.
Leaving Mailchimp because your flows are too basic? Then this is the logical step.
A B2B example: a whitepaper download starts a five-email series, with a separate branch for anyone who visited your pricing page.
That’s how you build lead nurturing email flows that actually help sales.
Add lead scoring so sales knows who’s ready.
4. HubSpot Marketing Hub
Best for: teams that want marketing and sales in one system for years.
Price: free for 2 users. Starter from $7 per seat a month as a limited-time offer for new customers, with 1,000 marketing contacts. Professional from $800 a month with 3 seats, plus a required $3,000 onboarding fee (pricing page, checked October 2026).
Biggest strength: marketing, CRM and sales share the same data.
Watch out: the jump from Starter to Professional is big. And HubSpot counts marketing contacts too.
HubSpot isn’t an email tool.
It’s a full platform, with email as one part of it.
Pick it if a CRM is your real reason for leaving.

5. Laposta
Best for: Belgian SMEs that want a simple newsletter tool with servers in the Netherlands.
Price: free for up to 2,000 contacts and 12,000 emails a month, with Laposta ads under your emails. A subscription starts from €210 a year (pricing page, checked October 2026).
Biggest strength: servers in the Netherlands and a data processing agreement for every account.
Watch out: it’s a newsletter tool. You won’t get deep B2B automation or a CRM here.
Laposta is a Dutch tool.
The interface and support are in Dutch, which lowers the bar for Flemish teams but not for everyone else.
There’s also a mail credits option from €9, where you pay per newsletter sent.
Handy if you only email a few times a year.
6. Klaviyo
Best for: webshops, including B2B webshops with repeat orders.
Price: free for up to 250 active profiles and 500 emails a month. The page didn’t show a paid starting price (pricing page, checked October 2026).
Biggest strength: deep links with webshop data, such as product behavior and purchases.
Watch out: for B2B with long sales cycles and personal deals, the e-commerce focus is overkill.
Selling services or complex projects? Then Klaviyo doesn’t belong on your shortlist.
Which tool should you pick for your reason to leave?
Hold your reason up against this table:
| Your reason to leave Mailchimp | Look first at | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Too expensive per contact | Brevo | Price follows email volume |
| Too expensive, small list | MailerLite, Laposta | Low entry price or free plan |
| Flows too limited | ActiveCampaign | Branching and scoring |
| No CRM for sales | HubSpot, Brevo | CRM in the same system |
| Data in the EU | Brevo, Laposta | Servers in the EU or the Netherlands |
| Webshop | Klaviyo | Purchase and product data |
Torn between two tools? Pick the one that fixes your main reason.
How do you work out the real price of a Mailchimp alternative?
Price it on your sending rhythm and next year’s list, not on the starting price.
Starting prices cover the smallest tier.
A B2B list almost never fits in it.
Take the example from above: 8,000 contacts, two newsletters a month. That’s 16,000 emails a month.
Tools that charge per contact
With Mailchimp, MailerLite, ActiveCampaign and HubSpot, you pick a tier that covers 8,000 contacts.
On Mailchimp Essentials, you can then send up to 10 times your contacts.
You’ll use a fraction of that limit, but you’ll pay for the full list.
Tools that charge on email volume
With Brevo, you pick a volume tier.
16,000 emails won’t fit in the 15,000 tier, so you pick 20,000 emails a month.
According to the pricing page, that tier allows up to 500,000 contacts.
So your list can grow without your tier having to move.
How to compare fairly
Put three numbers side by side for each tool:
- Contacts: today and a year from now
- Emails a month: your real rhythm, plus campaigns
- Plan with flows: the cheapest tier that includes your automations
Take the price for that tier from the pricing page yourself.
They change often, and offers are temporary.

How do you migrate without losing your list or reputation?
A switch is more than a CSV export. Work through these four steps:
- Export your lists: including tags, segments and unsubscribed addresses
- Bring your consent records: date, source and form per contact
- Warm up your sending domain: start with your most active contacts
- Rebuild your automations: flows don’t move with you
Export more than just addresses
Bring your unsubscribes too, plus addresses that bounced or complained.
Import them as unsubscribed, so they never get an email again by accident.
Use the switch to clean up while you’re at it.
Good email list segmentation starts with knowing who’s still active.
Proof of consent under GDPR
Under GDPR, you need to be able to show that someone gave consent.
Keep a record per contact of when, where and through which form that happened.
Do your leads come in through your site? Then check that your contact form is GDPR compliant.
On where your data lives, read our guide to EU hosting and GDPR data residency.
Warm up your sending domain
A new tool often means new sending servers, such as a shared IP address you don’t know yet.
So don’t send to your full list straight away.
Start with your most engaged contacts and build up the volume over a few weeks.
Set up SPF, DKIM and DMARC for your new tool first.
Rebuild your automations
Flows, triggers and scores don’t move over automatically.
Treat it as a chance to review them.
Start with your welcome email series, then your nurturing, and only then the rest.
Frequently asked questions
What’s the best free Mailchimp alternative?
It depends on your list. Laposta is free for up to 2,000 contacts, with ads in your emails. Brevo allows 300 emails a day. MailerLite gives you 250 subscribers and 2,500 emails a month (all checked October 2026).
Is Brevo cheaper than Mailchimp?
Often, if you have a big list you rarely email. Brevo charges on email volume, Mailchimp by contact tier. If you email a small list every day, the gap can shrink. Run your own scenario. Our Brevo vs Mailchimp comparison goes factor by factor.
Which Mailchimp alternative keeps data in the EU?
Brevo says its servers are in the EU. Laposta lists servers in the Netherlands. With any tool, also ask for the data processing agreement and the list of sub-processors.
Can I bring my Mailchimp automations with me?
No, you’ll need to rebuild flows in the new tool. You can export your contacts, tags and unsubscribes, though. So plan time to rebuild and test every flow.
Is HubSpot a good Mailchimp alternative for an SME?
Only if you’re also after a CRM. For newsletters alone, HubSpot is too heavy. If you want marketing and sales in one system, it’s a strong pick.
What’s your next step?
Write down why you want to leave Mailchimp first. That one reason picks your tool.
