Web accessibility
An accessible website, tested and fixed to WCAG.
Since 28 June 2025, accessibility requirements apply across the EU to webshops and online services for consumers, among others. We test your website against WCAG 2.1 level AA, fix what is wrong, write your accessibility statement and make sure new pages stay accessible.

Trusted by growing brands
Sound familiar?
We sell online to consumers and do not know whether the European Accessibility Act applies to us.
An automatic scan shows hundreds of errors and we do not know where to start.
Our form or checkout does not work with the keyboard.
We installed an accessibility plugin, but the errors are in the code.
Nobody knows what an accessibility statement has to contain.
How we help
We combine an automatic test with a manual check of your key pages and journeys, put the issues in a priority list and fix them in your templates. That way accessibility becomes a property of your site, not a layer on top of it.
Why Customer Impact
Why our approach is different.
Tested manually, not just scanned
An automatic scan finds only part of the problems. We test your key journeys with the keyboard and a screen reader: search, product, cart, form, payment.
Fixed in the templates
An error in a template comes back on hundreds of pages. We fix it at the source, so one change improves the whole site.
Factual about the law
We explain what the law asks, with the official sources alongside. For a legal opinion on your situation we refer you to your lawyer.
Accessible and findable
Clear headings, alt text, labels and a logical structure also help Google and AI assistants understand your site.

WCAG compliance and the European Accessibility Act
Directive (EU) 2019/882, better known as the European Accessibility Act, applies since 28 June 2025. Among other things, it requires e-commerce services for consumers to be accessible to people with disabilities. In Belgium the rules are in the Code of Economic Law and the FPS Economy supervises compliance, as the Flemish government summarises. What the law means for your webshop or service in practice, read in our guide on European Accessibility Act website compliance.
This page gives factual information, not legal advice. For an opinion on your own situation, it is best to consult a lawyer.
WCAG 2.1 AA: what we test against
For websites, the European standard EN 301 549 builds on WCAG 2.1, level AA. Those are testable success criteria around four principles: perceivable, operable, understandable and robust. In practice it is about contrast, alt text, labels, headings, keyboard operation, visible focus and understandable error messages. You can read the full list in our WCAG checklist, and the mistakes we see most in web accessibility mistakes.

From audit to fixing
An audit only has value when the issues go away. We fix them in your templates and components, so every new page is better straight away. How to make a site accessible step by step, read in website accessibility. After fixing, we write your accessibility statement.
Who is this for?
For webshops and online services selling to consumers, for companies having a new website built that want to get it right from the start, and for organisations that want an accessible site for all their visitors. If we build your new site through website development, accessibility is part of it from the design. Accessibility also strengthens your conversion rate optimization: a form that works for everyone converts better.
Contact us and within 24 hours you hear how we would test and fix your site.
Related knowledge
Most accessibility issues we find are not in the content but in the templates: a menu that does not work with the keyboard, a form without labels, a checkout where the focus disappears. One fix in the template solves it on hundreds of pages at once.

In all honesty
Who is this not for?
- You are looking for a plugin that sorts accessibility in one click: it does not work that way, the errors are in the code.
- You are looking for legal advice on your liability: for that we refer you to a lawyer.
- You do not want anything changed in your templates: without fixing, an audit stays a report.

Frequently asked questions
What does an accessibility audit cost? +
We work on request, because the effort varies a lot. What drives the effort: the number of different templates and journeys, whether there is a webshop or checkout, the CMS and themes you use, the number of languages and whether we also do the fixing or guide your web developer. After a short intake you get a proposal with a clear scope.
Does the European Accessibility Act apply to my website? +
Directive (EU) 2019/882 applies since 28 June 2025 to, among others, e-commerce services for consumers and banking services. If you sell online to consumers, you are quite likely in scope. Exemptions apply to microenterprises providing services. We help you answer the question factually; for a legal opinion it is best to consult your lawyer.
Which standard should I follow? +
The European standard EN 301 549 is the reference, and for websites it builds on WCAG 2.1 level AA. That is what we test against.
Does an accessibility plugin solve the problem? +
No. An overlay plugin puts a layer on top of your site, but the errors are in the code and the templates. Screen reader users often get more trouble than help from such plugins. Fixing at the source is the lasting route.
What must an accessibility statement contain? +
How accessible your site is, which parts do not comply yet and why, and how a visitor can report a problem. We write it based on the audit, so it matches reality.
How many problems does an automatic scan find? +
Some of them. Contrast, missing alt text and labels are often found automatically, but whether the keyboard order is logical or an error message is understandable can only be tested manually.
How can I quickly see where my site stands? +
Test your homepage, a product page and a form with our free WCAG checker. You see the main issues and where they are.
