monday.com costs €9 to €19 per seat per month, billed yearly.
Those are the prices for Belgium, excluding VAT, and there’s a free plan for 2 users on top.
Pay monthly and it’s €12 to €24 per seat.
The verdict: the price per seat isn’t the trap, the seat buckets are.
You buy 3, 5, 10 or 15 seats, never 4 or 8. So a team of 4 pays for 5.
How we checked: every price comes from monday.com’s pricing page and the monday CRM pricing page, checked on 21 October 2026 from Belgium, in euro, excluding VAT.
The page only shows work management’s monthly prices after a click. We read them from the price data in that same page’s source code.
We didn’t test a paid account. We use a partner link for monday.com: it doesn’t change any of the numbers.
What does monday.com cost per plan in 2026?
monday work management has five plans: Free, Basic, Standard, Pro and Enterprise.
You pay per seat per month, with a 3-seat minimum on every paid plan. Here’s what the pricing page showed on 21 October 2026:
| Plan | Yearly (per seat/month) | Monthly (per seat/month) | Entry (3 seats, yearly) | What the plan adds |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | €0 | €0 | Max. 2 users | 3 boards, 3 docs, 8 column types |
| Basic | €9 | €12 | €27 a month | Unlimited items, free viewers |
| Standard | €12 | €14 | €36 a month | Timeline, Gantt, calendar, guests, 250 automations |
| Pro | €19 | €24 | €57 a month | Time tracking, private boards, 25,000 automations |
| Enterprise | Quote | Quote | 12-month minimum | Portfolio and resource management |
Most picked: Standard carries the “Most popular” label on the page.
It’s also the first plan with automations and a timeline.
On the pricing page, look at the small line under each price:

It says “billed annually”. So that €9 is paid twelve months up front.
What does monday CRM cost?
monday CRM is a separate product, priced higher than work management.
It’s built for leads, contacts and deals, not project planning.
The CRM page showed this on 21 October 2026:
| Plan | Yearly (per seat/month) | Monthly (per seat/month) | Contacts and deals | Worth noting |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | €12 | €18 | 1,000 | Max. 5 columns per board |
| Standard | €17 | €25 | 10,000 | 250 automations a month |
| Pro | €28 | €41 | 100,000 | Mass emails and email sequences |
| Ultimate | Quote | Quote | Unlimited | New name for Enterprise |
Watch out: monday CRM has no free plan, just a 14-day trial.

How do monday.com’s seat buckets work?
monday.com sells seats in groups, not per person.
monday calls this “bucket pricing” itself. According to its help article on plans and pricing, you start at 3 seats and then go up in steps of 5.
For example, a team of 4 picks 5 seats, and a team of 6 picks 10.
Here’s how your team size turns into what you pay:
| Team size | Seats you pay for | Empty seats |
|---|---|---|
| 1 or 2 | Free plan possible | 0 |
| 3 | 3 | 0 |
| 4 | 5 | 1 |
| 6 | 10 | 4 |
| 8 | 10 | 2 |
| 11 | 15 | 4 |
| 41 | 50 | 9 |
| 51 | 100 | 49 |
| More than 200 | Quote | n/a |
Rule of thumb: a team of 6 is the most expensive team per person.
You pay for 10 seats for 6 people, so 67% more than you use.
You can’t just drop down either: to buy fewer seats, you deactivate users first.
Otherwise the smaller options are greyed out, says the same help article.
Click “Choose team size” on the pricing page and you’ll see the buckets listed:
The team size selector on monday.com’s pricing page, English interface viewed from Belgium, October 2026.
There’s no option for 4, 6 or 8 seats.
Good news: viewers are free from Basic up.
Someone who only reads along, such as a managing director following the plan, doesn’t take a seat.
What does monday.com cost for a team like yours?
These four examples are computed from the prices on 21 October 2026, excluding VAT.
They aren’t quotes, they’re sums on the published prices.
You’ll see the maths every time, so you can redo it with your own team size.
Example 1: a marketing team of 4 on Standard
Say a B2B marketing team of 4 plans campaigns and content in monday.
It wants a timeline and automations, so Standard.
- Seats: 4 people, so the 5-seat bucket.
- Yearly: 5 × €12 = €60 a month, or €720 a year.
- Monthly: 5 × €14 = €70 a month, or €840 a year.
- Per actual user: €60 / 4 = €15 a month, not €12.
That fifth seat costs €144 a year. Give it a job.
Example 2: a team of 8 on Standard
Say a bigger team of 8, same plan.
- Seats: the 10-seat bucket.
- Yearly: 10 × €12 = €120 a month, or €1,440 a year.
- Monthly: 10 × €14 = €140 a month, or €1,680 a year.
- Empty seats: 2, together €288 a year.
Grow to 10 people next year and it won’t cost a cent more.
At 11 you jump to 15 seats: €2,160 a year.
Example 3: three people on Pro
Say a small team of 3 that wants to track time per client or project.
Time tracking only comes with Pro.
- Seats: 3, exactly the minimum.
- Yearly: 3 × €19 = €57 a month, or €684 a year.
- Monthly: 3 × €24 = €72 a month, or €864 a year.
No empty seat: this is the cleanest price you’ll get.
Example 4: four sales reps on monday CRM Standard
Say 4 sales reps follow up leads and deals in monday CRM Standard.
- Seats: the 5-seat bucket.
- Yearly: 5 × €17 = €85 a month, or €1,020 a year.
- Monthly: 5 × €25 = €125 a month, or €1,500 a year.
Paying yearly saves €480 a year here.
The four examples side by side
Here’s the yearly cost, billed yearly versus billed monthly:
Monthly billing costs more in every example.
The gap runs from €120 a year (team of 4) to €480 (CRM).
Which costs aren’t in the headlines?
Five things change your real bill, and none of them is in large print on the page.
Yearly means paying a year up front
You always pay a full billing period in advance, says the FAQ on the pricing page.
On a yearly plan, that’s twelve months in one go. Cancel within 30 days of paying and you’ll get the remaining balance back.
The yearly discount isn’t 18% everywhere
The toggle on the pricing page says “Save 18%”. Per plan, you land somewhere else:
- Basic: €9 versus €12, so 25% cheaper.
- Standard: €12 versus €14, so 14% cheaper.
- Pro: €19 versus €24, so 21% cheaper.
On monday CRM the toggle says 33%, and there it roughly holds: 33% on Basic, 32% on Standard and Pro.
AI credits are included for now, as an offer
Every paid plan gets AI credits each month: 1,000 on Basic, 2,000 on Standard and 3,000 on Pro.
The page values 1,000 credits at €10.
Then it takes that same €10 off again as a “special monthly discount”. So your total is simply seats times price for now.
You can buy more credits. Check at renewal whether the offer’s still there.
Automations have a ceiling
The Basic card lists no automations.
Standard gives 250 automation actions a month, Pro 25,000.
250 actions a month is roughly 12 per working day.
Connect, for example, forms, email and your CRM to your boards, and you’ll hit that fast.
Building heavy flows? Look at a marketing automation tool too. How to set those flows up is in B2B marketing automation.
VAT comes on top
“Prices do not include tax”, it says under the plans. The price depends on your billing country.
If monday charges 21% Belgian VAT, €720 a year becomes €871.20.
Small detail: the FAQ says monday.com starts from €24 a month for three users, but the Basic card shows €27 (3 × €9).
Go by the card.
Is monday.com’s free plan enough?
For 1 or 2 people with a handful of live projects, yes.
The free plan gives you up to 2 users, 3 boards, 3 docs, 8 column types, 200+ templates and the mobile apps.
AI features only start at Basic.
The limit that bites first: 3 boards. A content calendar, a campaign board and a client board, and you’re full.
Want to test how you’d build that calendar first? Follow these steps for a content calendar.
How does monday.com compare on price with Trello, Asana and ClickUp?
monday.com isn’t the cheapest, and for small teams it’s sometimes clearly pricier.
This is what each tool’s pricing page showed on 21 October 2026. The three alternatives show dollars:
| Tool | Free plan | Cheapest paid plan (yearly) | Buying seats |
|---|---|---|---|
| monday.com | 2 users, 3 boards | €9 per seat (Basic) | Buckets of 3, 5, 10, 15 |
| Trello | 10 collaborators per workspace, 10 boards | $5 per user (Standard) | No minimum stated |
| Asana | 2 users (Personal) | $10.99 per user (Starter) | By 1 up to 5, then by 5 up to 30 |
| ClickUp | Unlimited members, 60 MB storage | From $7 per user | No minimum stated |
The sources: Trello’s pricing page, Asana’s pricing page and ClickUp’s pricing page.
ClickUp showed two price versions side by side on our check date, so check it yourself.
For a team of 4 on the entry plan, billed yearly:
- Trello Standard: 4 × $5 = $240 a year.
- Asana Starter: 4 × $10.99 = $527.52 a year.
- monday.com Basic: 5 × €9 = €540 a year.
- monday.com Standard: 5 × €12 = €720 a year.
Planning mostly content? Our roundup of content marketing tools lists Trello and Notion as lighter options.
Is monday.com worth the price, or should you pick something cheaper?
monday.com is worth it if your team lands on a bucket and actually uses the timeline and automations.
Then you get one tool that puts marketing, projects and, if you like, sales in one place.
Working in sprints? A steady growth sprint cadence helps more than one extra feature.
Pick monday.com if:
- your team is 3, 5 or 10 people: you won’t pay for empty seats.
- you need Gantt or a timeline: that starts at Standard.
- you also want to follow up leads: monday CRM runs on the same platform.
Pick something cheaper if:
- your team sits just above a bucket: 4, 6 or 11 people.
- you only need a kanban board: Trello will do.
- you’re mainly after a sales pipeline: check our B2B CRM comparison.
Here’s the pick per situation:
| If you… | Pick |
|---|---|
| plan with 1 or 2 people | monday.com Free or Trello Free |
| have 3 or 5 people and need a timeline | monday.com Standard |
| want a simple board on a small budget | Trello Standard |
| have 6 or 7 people | Price out Trello or ClickUp; above 5, Asana also moves in steps of 5 |
| want to track time per client | monday.com Pro or ClickUp |
| mainly follow up deals and leads | monday CRM or a CRM from our comparison |
