llms.txt is a proposed standard file that you place in the root of your site to point AI crawlers to your most important content, in a form that a language model can read easily.

What does it contain?

The idea leans on the well-known robots.txt, but with a different purpose. Where robots.txt says what a crawler may or may not visit, llms.txt provides a clear, cleaned-up signpost to what really matters: your core pages, documentation and explanations, often in simple markdown without navigation and noise. This way a large language model does not have to struggle through a messy page to understand your message.
