E-E-A-T stands for Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness and Trustworthiness. It is the framework Google uses to estimate whether your content is credible, and it influences both your rankings and whether AI engines cite you.
What do those four letters mean?
E-E-A-T revolves around four signals. Experience is about real, first-hand experience with the topic. Expertise is demonstrable subject knowledge. Authoritativeness is the standing you build because others refer to you and recognize you as a source. Trustworthiness, the most important, is about reliability: are your facts correct, are you transparent, can a reader trust you? Together they form a picture of whether your content is worth showing.
Why does E-E-A-T weigh so heavily?
Because search engines and AI engines do not want to spread mistakes. For topics where wrong information can cause harm, trust weighs extra heavily. A page from a recognizable expert with well-supported, correct content beats an anonymous text without sources. This ties in with topical authority: by publishing in depth and consistently about your field, you build the standing that E-E-A-T rewards. How to approach this in practice is explained in the guide on E-E-A-T.
How do you improve your E-E-A-T?
By making real expertise visible: name authors with their background, back up claims with sources, and share insights from your own practice. Also pay attention to signals that strengthen trust, such as clear contact details and consistent mentions elsewhere. If you use AI content, edit it thoroughly, so experience and accuracy are preserved and you do not publish generic texts.
How does Customer Impact approach this?
We build E-E-A-T by linking content to real subject expertise and positioning your brand as an authority within its niche. That helps you not only in Google, but also in AI answers. We work exclusively in B2B, with a small, fast team, and steer on authority that leads to enquiries, not on hollow signals.
