What is SEA?
SEA stands for Search Engine Advertising: paid ads that appear at the top and bottom of the search results. The best-known platform is Google Ads. You usually pay per click (PPC), and your bid plus your quality score determine whether and how high your ad appears.
SEA vs. SEO
Where SEO takes time to deliver results, SEA delivers immediate visibility as soon as your campaign is live. The downside: as soon as your budget stops, the traffic stops. SEA and SEO reinforce each other; together they take up more space on the results page.
What it comes down to
Successful SEA is about the right keywords, sharp ads, a high quality score and landing pages that convert. This way you lower your cost per click and increase your return (ROAS).
