How does Sortlist work for agencies?
Clients post a project on Sortlist and agencies apply. Next to your profile, Sortlist sells two modules: an Opportunity module, where you pay credits to be introduced to a project, and a Visibility module, where you pay credits for clicks. A paid add-on called Competitors lets you "see what other companies have applied to an opportunity", which tells you that opportunities are contested.
Sortlist states that "Paid member agencies get 10 to 20 times more exposure on the platform than agencies on our free plan", and verified Sortlist+ members "enjoy priority visibility over non-verified providers" (Sortlist pricing). Sortlist+ also lets you remove competitor profiles from your own page.

What do agencies say about Sortlist?
The only testimonials we could verify are the ones Sortlist publishes on its own pricing page. They are selected by Sortlist, so read them as examples, not as averages:
- Thomas Paris, Madkings: "For about 1 year, we have invested around €4000 and we have had between €150.000 and €200.000 turnover with Sortlist."
- Ruben, Alinoa: "I totally understand your 12-month minimum commitment, because I clearly feel that my way of selling with a Sortlist lead is not the same after 6 months than at the beginning."
The second quote makes a fair point: marketplaces reward agencies that learn how to pitch there. Budget for that learning curve when you judge the first months.
Is Sortlist worth it? The maths on won projects
Because several agencies apply to the same opportunity, the cost that matters is cost per won project = (12 months of Sortlist+ + credits spent) / projects won. Track which opportunities you paid for, which you won and the margin on each. Fill in your own numbers below; the defaults are examples, not Sortlist figures.
What does a won deal cost via a platform, and via your own channel?
Fill in your own numbers. The prefilled values are examples to show the maths, not benchmarks or platform prices.
Assumptions: the own channel grows linearly to full strength; both channels share the same sales cycle; costs exclude VAT and your sales team's time. To value a single lead, use the lead value calculator or the CAC calculator.
When is Sortlist worth it for an agency?
- You sell to European and Belgian buyers who post projects on marketplaces.
- You are a young agency with few reviews and little search visibility; the free plan already builds a profile.
- You can pitch fast and well. On a contested opportunity, speed and a sharp proposal decide.
