How much does advertising with Google Ads cost?

You set your own budget, but the real cost lies in the price per click, which varies strongly by sector. On top of your ad budget, expect a management fee for setup and optimization.

With Google Ads you set your own budget: you pay per click via the PPC model. The real question is therefore not “how much does it cost”, but “how much does a click cost in your market”. That cost per click (CPC) varies strongly by sector, from a few cents to several euros. On top of that you usually pay a management fee for setup, optimization and follow-up. A tailored quote gives you a realistic total picture.

What exactly makes up the cost?

There are three layers:

  • Ad budget. The amount that goes to Google, paid per click. You set this yourself and can scale it up or down.
  • Cost per click (CPC). How much you pay per click, depending on competition and your Quality Score.
  • Management. The time to set up campaigns well and keep optimizing them, so your budget does not evaporate.

How these layers together determine your total cost is explained in the full guide to Google Ads costs.

Why is your Quality Score so important?

Because Google rewards relevance. A higher Quality Score lowers your cost per click and improves your position at the same time: you pay less for better results. That score depends on how well your ad, keyword and landing page align. That is why a small budget with sharp campaigns is often more effective than a large budget spent sloppily. Pouring money into a campaign without optimization is the most expensive way to advertise.

Is Google Ads worth the investment for B2B?

Often yes, because you reach exactly the people actively searching for what you offer: buying intent at the right moment. Its strength is measurability, you see exactly what a click, a lead and ultimately a customer costs. If you are unsure where to put your budget, weigh up whether SEO or Google Ads is better for your business. In B2B, where one customer is worth a lot, a relatively high cost per click can pay for itself many times over. At Customer Impact we do not steer on clicks or impressions, but on campaigns that genuinely deliver enquiries and revenue.
