Local pack

The block with three local businesses and a map that Google shows for searches with local intent.

By Tanguy De Keyzer · Founder & digital strategist

The local pack is the prominent block, usually with three local businesses and a map, that Google shows at the top for searches with local intent, such as “accountant near me” or “IT partner Ghent”. It appears even above the regular organic results.

When does the local pack appear?

Google shows this block when it judges that a searcher is looking for a local business or service. The search intent is then decisive: for “what is bookkeeping” you see no pack, but for “accounting firm Antwerp” you do. The three businesses shown are chosen based on relevance, distance and prominence. Because this block sits so prominently in the SERP, it often captures the first clicks, even before the classic ranking comes into play.

How do you get into the local pack?

A complete and well-maintained Google business profile is the foundation: correct name, address, opening hours and category. In addition, customer reviews weigh heavily, both in number and in quality and how recent they are. You further strengthen local relevance with content that clearly names your region and services, plus mentions on trustworthy local sources. Consistency across all those places counts.

The local pack according to Customer Impact

We look at the local pack from the question of whether it brings you real customers. For B2B service providers with a clear service area, this block is a direct line to businesses in your area that are looking for a partner right now. We never work with hollow tactics, but build an honest profile and genuine reviews that strengthen your reputation. Because being visible in the pack is only valuable if the visitors who click on it match who you want to serve. That way we steer local visibility toward concrete inquiries.

From theory to growth.

We turn Local pack into measurable results for your business.
